ARINZE ON THE LITURGY AND FORMATION OF CONSCIENCE

Francis Cardinal Arinze, former prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments, and now Prefect Emeritus--great scholar and leader, youngest bishop of his generation (consecrated at 32), and good friend to St John Paul II and Benedict XVI.

He's also the prefect who was insulted and whose credentials were questioned on KOLG (read the transcript) by Apuron that caused such a ruckus that a meeting was called to cover the archbishop and Tim Rohr's son was suggested as a scapegoat. Remember when Apuron said Arinze as prefect didn't know what he was talking about when it comes to liturgy?

Yes, that Cardinal Arinze. Not the best friend Kiko ever had. So yeah, I like him. Mostly because he's faithful about the Holy Sacrament of the Mass.

Anyway, the good cardinal gave a talk last month on how the Sacred Liturgy is instrumental in forming our conscience, thereby conforming us to Christ. The Divine Pedagogy, all without flamenco music-playing catechists.

You can find read here .

In other words, I wouldn't have posted it if it wasn't important.

Because it's a little long for some, I'll try to get a summary up in the next few days, especially as it pertains to our situation on Guam.
